HackBrowserData is an open-source CLI for authorized security research, incident response, and digital forensics. It began in 2020 as a practical way to inspect locally stored browser artifacts and has grown to cover nineteen registered browsers, three operating systems, Chromium App-Bound Encryption on supported Windows builds, Firefox NSS, Safari, and cross-host Chromium recovery.

Support is intentionally explicit rather than universal: Chromium-based browsers and Firefox run on Windows, macOS, and Linux, while Safari support is macOS-only. See Supported Browsers for the exact matrix and How It Works for the extraction pipeline.

Use HackBrowserData only against systems and data you own or are explicitly authorized to access. Exports and transport archives may contain credentials, authenticated sessions, personal activity, and local filesystem paths; handle them under the engagement’s access-control and retention requirements.
